One of Know & Do's business values is sharing, we 'pay it forward' where we can to improve the communities that we live and work within. To that end Know+Do co-founders Andrew Ramwell and Bernard Clarke, have freely mentored selected individuals since starting the business.
For the past two years, Andrew has been volunteering pro-bono as a business mentor for the Business Growth Hub . In that time he's helped those returning to work set out their plans, revitalized entrepreneurs and challenged growing businesses to be smarter and achieve more than they thought possible.
So, here at Know+Do we are delighted Andrew's work has been recognized as he has been nominated for Mentor of the Year 2017 at the Made in Manchester awards.Upon receiving the nomination, Andrew said, "I enjoy seeing people realise their full potential and live out their values through their work. It has been a honour to mentor so many enterprising people in this City and I'll continue to enjoy spending time with those who have a passion to succeed in business."
As a business built on the philosophy of using knowledge to take effective action, we place a high value on the impact we make with clients. Our aim is to help them identify their understanding of success and then take practical steps to achieving their goals.
We also encourage them to share and 'pay it forward' so they not only use the tools, knowledge and skills we share for themselves but they also share these with their peers, colleagues and networks. For instance, one client recently contacted us saying:
“No matter what challenges I am facing, Andrew has always been willing to help me and if he doesn’t know the answer, he has built a strong network of contacts where he could find the answer and get back to me.
Andrew has been a great mentor and despite how busy he is, has always found time to help me. He invests the time to mentor me and takes pride in doing so because he knows that in the future, when I am in a position to help others, I will do the same."
For a full list of all the categories and nominees visit the Made in Manchester awards site. Know+Do wish all the nominees well and hope the evening inspires more people to work together in a thriving Greater Manchester business community. Interviews and assessments from the judging panel are on-going and the winners will be announced at the Hilton Hotel Deansgate on Thursday 2nd February 2017.
Whoever wins we know Andrew has, is and will continue to share his knowledge to make a significant difference to new businesses in Greater Manchester!
